Purus Perspective: June 2026

Investment Committee Update

As we transition into the summer months, we want to take a moment to reflect on our community values, touch on the current economic landscape, and thank you for your continued partnership.

Memorial Day always serves as a poignant reminder of the ultimate sacrifice made by our fallen service members. As is tradition, we proudly sponsored the Field of Honor® at Mission San Juan Capistrano, where hundreds of American flags flew in solemn tribute to those who gave their lives for our country.

We are equally honored to have sponsored the annual Swing for Kids Golf Tournament benefiting Waymakers, an organization we have been privileged to support for over a decade in its mission to serve youth and families throughout Orange County.

As we look at the current financial landscape, the broader markets have remained resilient, though we continue to monitor evolving economic data. While inflation trends and fluctuating interest rates have kept volatility on the radar, steady corporate earnings and technological innovation continue to provide a solid foundation for continued market growth. Our investment strategy remains focused on diversification and risk management as we strive to position your portfolio to weather shifting economic and geopolitical winds while maintaining a focus on steady growth and stability.

We also want to wish all the fathers, grandfathers, and father figures in our community a very happy Father’s Day. We hope your special day is filled with relaxation and quality time with family. As always, reach out if you have any questions, we would love to hear from you!

Above the Noise - Solid Ground for Markets

Invesco
"My firstborn daughter will be among roughly 3.7 million young adults graduating high school in the coming weeks, part of a class achieving a nearly 90% graduation rate that stands near record high. Not surprisingly, I wasn't asked to deliver a commencement speech, but I still feel compelled to say something to this class:

First, congratulations. If you've managed to take a break from graduation and bed/commitment parties to scroll through the headlines, you've probably heard that you'll fall behind your parents' standard of living and that your generation could preside over a long decline in the US. Don't believe the decline narrative!"

A New Fed Chair, a New Tone - But Familiar Anchors

Pimco
"This week, Kevin Warsh becomes chair of the U.S. Federal Reserve Board of Governors. We expect he will take a thoughtful but distinctive approach to monetary policy and seek, over time, to shift Fed strategy in several areas. But any change will be evolutionary, not revolutionary.

Meanwhile, Warsh joins the central bank during a period of macroeconomic turmoil. U.S. inflation remains above the Fed's stated target, pressured by geopolitical conflict and energy prices. Labor markets have shown resilience but also face uncertainties on several fronts - including a transformative technology, AI, with the potential to reshape the workforce."

How U.S. Midterm Elections May Affect Markets

Capital Group
"Held near the midpoint of a president's four-year term in office, midterm elections are often seen by the electorate and the political press as something of a referendum on the status quo. Control of Congress is at stake, and Republicans and Democrats go all out to win. Whichever party prevails in November will command the legislative agenda for the next two years. Historically speaking, the party in power tends to lose seats, but that doesn't mean history always repeats itself."

Time's Irreplaceable Value

First Trust
"Before his involvement as a Founding Father, Benjamin Franklin was a prominent writer in Philadelphia, publishing the annual Poor Richard’s Almanack – a collection of astronomical calendars, weather forecasts, and puzzles intended to be light-hearted education for the public. Among the factual figures, he often included personal wit and wisdom. Historians use these simple aphorisms to describe the personality of one of the most accomplished figures in our nation’s history. In the 1747 edition, he famously observed, 'Lost time is never found again.'"

Purus Community Happenings!

"Field of Honor® is about bringing people together to show their patriotism and pride in what makes America great and to experience something positive and meaningful. It is about uniting communities and educating our youth, raising public awareness, and showing gratitude to our military, veterans, and first responders, including K-9 and equine Heroes.  The sacrifices endured by these selfless Heroes to safeguard our way of life and communities are immeasurable."

Purus was honored to participate as a sponsor of an individual flag paying tribute to our military members, veterans, and first responders. We also had the privilege of attending the heartfelt opening ceremonies for the Field of Honor® at the Mission. Proceeds from the Field of Honor® go to benefit Homefront America's programs for military families.

Waymakers 42nd Swing For the Kid

Charity Golf Tournament

Waymakers hosted its 42nd annual Swing For Kids Charity Golf Tournament on May 21st at the Tustin Ranch Golf Club in Tustin. This incredible nonprofit organization builds safer communities by helping individuals make their way through conflict and crisis to a place of strength and stability. With 148 golf enthusiasts coming together, we were able to help raise vital funds for life-changing services in Orange County. This event is a powerful testament to what we can achieve together, and Purus is proud to support Waymakers in their mission to support communities and provide crucial resources to those in need.

To All the Amazing Dads!
