Investment Committee Update

We hope you are enjoying a relaxing and rewarding summer! Despite persistent headlines around tariffs and weaker employment data, the markets have continued to inch forward. As we enter the seasonal shifts of August and September, we anticipate continued volatility. Historically, these months bring uncertainty, and this year, so far, has been no exception. Our team at Purus Wealth Management believes the Federal Reserve is overdue for a rate cut. If inflation remains manageable, especially in light of tariff pressures, we may see a quarter-point reduction in September, with the possibility of another before year-end. The Fed faces a delicate balancing act: keeping inflation in check without stalling economic momentum. Looking ahead, we continue to seek opportunities across asset classes. Bonds appear increasingly attractive for long-term allocations, while we remain optimistic about sustained growth in equities over time. As always, we're here to support you. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like to discuss your portfolio or any financial questions you may have.

Powel Keeps Market Waiting For More Data

Pimco
"The Federal Reserve offered little guidance on the outlook at its July meeting, striking a somewhat hawkish tone. Following a two-day gathering of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC), the Fed left interest rates unchanged, made virtually no revisions to its policy statement, and in remarks to the press, Chair Jerome Powell declined to offer forward guidance. Instead, he reiterated the central bank's data-dependent stance."

Stablecoins 101

First Trust
"Last week, Congress passed a landmark bill establishing the first national regulatory framework for stablecoins—digital assets designed to maintain a steady value, typically pegged to the U.S. dollar, or some other fiat currency or asset like gold, to maintain a stable price. It’s a major step forward in recognizing stablecoins as a legitimate part of the financial system rather than a crypto sideshow. But what exactly are stablecoins, how do they work, and why do they matter?"

Where are We Going With Tarriffs?

J.P. Morgan
"August could be another busy month of tariff deadlines. Peak policy uncertainty is likely behind us, with the average effective tariff rate recently settling near 15%, and markets have primarily shifted focus away from policy."
